Letter from the BPA President

Summer 2017
Dear Brunswick Families,

The beginning of our 2017-2018 school year is drawing near and the Brunswick Parents’ Association (BPA) has been actively planning many events that will enrich our entire school community. This mailing will familiarize you with the BPA and the many initiatives and activities we support throughout the year. We have included a BPA Directory that will answer any questions you might have.

Below are highlights of some of the school events for this coming year:

Annual Dinner (Thurs, Sept 14)
A dinner for the entire parent body. The Headmaster and Chairman of the Board of Trustees will speak about the state of the school.

Bear Fair (Sat, Oct 28)
An exciting day filled with fun and games geared to Pre & Lower school boys. This event is run with the help of parents, as well as Middle & Upper School boys. Visit the Bear Fair site to order tickets and merchandise.

Homecoming (Fri, Oct 27 & Sat, Oct 28)
A weekend of reunions and varsity games for the entire community, past and present. Friday night features a bonfire and there are Middle & Upper School dances for grades 7 - 12.

Book Fair (Sun, Nov 5 & Mon, Nov 6)
Browse and purchase books for all ages, while supporting the Brunswick classrooms and libraries with book donations. The Sunday Preview Party features children’s entertainment and many other fun events. Visit the Book Fair site to order merchandise and to submit charge approvals and donations.

’Wick Walk Run (Sat, April 28)
Run, walk or stroll this very family friendly two-mile course. Visit the 'Wick Walk Run site for details when they become available.

Spring Benefit & Auction (Sat, May 5)
Enjoy a wonderful evening of dancing and fun, while you bid on amazing auction items with your fellow Brunswick parents.

We invite you to become a member of the BPA for the 2017-18 academic year by completing the registration card (pdf) or by submitting your dues online.

The annual BPA Membership Dues are $30 per family. Your dues and any additional contributions you make support:
  • Brunswick community events such as those listed above
  • Middle & Upper School Arts productions
  • Parent programs and lectures as well as student assemblies for all grades
  • and much more!
In addition, the BPA has been able to fund special request items from each Division, such as new playground equipment for the Pre & Lower Schools, Science Curriculum updates in the Lower School and a high tech video system for the Upper School theater.

The BPA also directly supports our Faculty and Staff through special appreciation activities. Monthly drawings, holiday gifts, and a spring luncheon are some of the many ways we let our faculty and staff know they are valued. In fact, please consider an additional contribution to help fund these types of activities; there is a spot for this on the enclosed card or online.

Your support will help enrich the lives of our sons and continue to build our Brunswick community. Also, please visit the Volunteer Opportunities form to volunteer for specific events. We welcome your time, talents and energy in all our projects and activities.

On behalf of the entire BPA Board, enjoy the remaining days of summer and I look forward to seeing you in September.

Warmest regards,
Sarah Meindl
