Kempo Karate at BASE (PK-K, 3p-3:45p), $200
Kempo Karate is an excellent activity to start at an early age, and moreover, the martial arts help to develop self-confidence, focus, discipline, respect and benevolence for others. In a fun and controlled environment, students will build motor skills by learning a series of punches, kicks, and blocks. Throughout the course, important character-building lessons are incorporated. Our pre-school/kindergarten classes focus on developing gross motor skills and self-control, whereas classes with older children emphasize fine motor skills, balance, strength, conditioning, and mastery of oneself. Participants will have no physical contact during the session. Students should wear comfortable clothes and sneakers. All new students will receive a white Karate belt at the start of the program. Throughout the course of the program, all eligible students will be invited to earn their next colored belt at a belt rank testing, hosted at the Greenwich Kempo dojo.
Stop Motion Animation (Gr 1-2, 3:35p-4:20p), $200
Come learn the basic skills to create your very own stop-motion animated film! You will envision your story, map out a storyboard and write a script. Next, you will learn basic software skills while filming your story. Finally, basic editing techniques will be applied to your film to give it its very own finishing touches.
Audubon Club (Gr 1-2, 3:35p-4:20p), $200
The Audubon Club engages students through activities that identify plant, animal, and habitat relationships right on our campus! Led by an Audubon Naturalist and Educator, boys will also learn about biodiversity in our region.
Lego Robotics (Gr 3-4, 3:45p-4:30p), $200
This isn't your typical robotics or science club, as we truly embrace fun and creativity as much as learning. Using motors, sensors, and a programmable brain, you can make your model do almost anything.
Health & Wellness Club (Gr 3-4, 3:45p-4:30p), $200
Move it! Teach students the importance of daily exercise by exploring three elements of fitness: endurance, strength, and flexibility. Students will be moving their bodies and following a combination of cardio and strength workouts and yoga stretches. This club will allow students to have a release of energy, while also calming them down through mindful practices after a long school day. Commit to be fit, come and join us!
Extended Day (PK-Gr 4)
Pickup is available for boys in PK/K Monday-Thursday at 3:45p, or boys in PK-4 at 4:30p or 5:30p. This supervised, unstructured program at the end of the day is an opportunity for the boys to participate in free play, arts & crafts, homework help, puzzles and games, and much more while providing families with additional coverage beyond the traditional school day. Due to space restrictions, please consider that space this spring in Extended Day is limited and priority will be given to those families with no alternate childcare.
