B.A.S.E. Course Catalog (Spring 2023)

B.A.S.E. (Brunswick After School Experience) is our in-house after-school program, which consists of Encore enrichment activities as well as an Extended Day group. In addition to offering enriching after-school clubs, the primary goal of B.A.S.E. is to provide safe childcare for children of working parents or families in need of care beyond the traditional school day.

  • The spring term of B.A.S.E. begins the week of March 27.
      • Encore enrichment activities end the week of May 22.
      • The last day of Extended Day is May 31 for Pre School, and June 1 for Lower School.

  • Encore activities meet once per week (Monday-Thursday) and are structured enrichment activities run by Brunswick teachers or outside experts, offered at grade levels PK-K, Grades 1-2, and Grades 3-4. Registration for all B.A.S.E. programs takes place in the fall, winter, and spring so families have the chance to adjust their schedule each term. Any outside instructors go through background checks, are required to be vaccinated, and will follow all school COVID-related policies.
  • The Encore schedule for each grade, Monday-Thursday, is as follows (unless otherwise noted in description):
      • PK-K: 3-3:45 p.m.
      • Grades 1-2: 3:35-4:20 p.m.
      • Grades 3-4: 3:45-4:30 p.m.

  • Each Encore activity has a minimum number of sign-ups required to run. Most Encore activities have an enrollment capacity, and we will do our best to ensure that all students can participate in an activity that they are interested in at least once throughout the year. Registrations may not always be first come, first served.
  • The Extended Day program is offered daily as an opportunity for boys in PK-Grade 4 to enjoy our facilities and resources and spend time in an unstructured, but supervised environment at the conclusion of the formal school day. Please consider that space may be limited in the Extended Day program, especially during the winter months, and priority may be given to families with no alternate pick-up options.
  • Extended Day pick-up times are 3:45 p.m. (PS only), 4:30 p.m., or 5:30 p.m. (you may pick up your son at any time before your registered pick-up time). You may add Extended Day on top of an Encore activity if you need a later pick-up. You will not be charged for Extended Day during the time your son is in an Encore activity.
  • Pick-up for most B.A.S.E. activities (Encore and Extended Day) is at the Pre School building (unless otherwise noted in description). Please do not line up in the pick-up line early. You may park and wait in other areas of campus besides the pick-up line. There are many events happening on campus and the front of the buildings cannot be blocked to traffic. For example, if you are picking up for grades 3 & 4 early, you will delay and congest the dismissal for grades 1 & 2.
