Over the past 75 years, the Brunswick Parents’ Association (BPA), an organization of parent volunteers, has been dedicated to supporting Brunswick students, faculty and administration through a broad range of programs and activities. Our objective is to enrich the school lives of our sons, as well as to build and strengthen our Brunswick community through educational, informational, social and fundraising projects. Many of our events are as much “friend-raising” as they are fundraising.
Our fundraising events allow us to support and enhance the educational experience by funding items, Including:
Classroom and playground equipment
Student assemblies and parent lectures
Science and technology enhancements
Faculty housing and enrichment
Arts and athletics improvements
Beyond fundraising, the BPA assists in coordinating the school’s Host Family Program to help ease the transition of new students to our school. The BPA also coordinates the Class Parents, who volunteer their time and efforts to organize classroom and social events for both students and parents in all grades. Finally, through donations, the BPA provides holiday and year-end gifts to all Brunswick faculty and staff, as well as tokens of teacher appreciation throughout the year.
Established in 1944 by Headmaster Alfred Everett, the Brunswick Parents’ Association was to provide sources of fundraising to enhance the curriculum and extracurricular life of the boys. In its first year, as the “Parent-Teacher Group,” it sponsored a Dessert-Bridge afternoon, which raised $800. The next year, a fashion show was added to the bridge party and apples were given as prizes. Today, we remain dedicated to Headmaster Everett’s goal. We alternate every year between our biennial Fashion Show and Golf Outing and, Spring Benefit events. Please join us this school year for our Fashion Show on April 29 and Golf Outing in May.
Though this 2020-2021 school year will be different, the BPA’s efforts will still touch all aspects of our Brunswick boys’ lives through academics, athletics, arts, community service, and social events. We hope you will join us by becoming involved in the BPA — please volunteer, meet other parents, and share your time and talents!
