SPORTS CAMP OFFERINGS

   BRUNSWICK SPORTS CAMP
Dates:  6/10-6/14, 6/17-6/21, 6/24-6/28, 7/1-7/5, 7/8-7/12 Coach:  Cedric Jones

Description:  Brunswick Sports Camp, now in its 79th year, is an opportunity for boys and girls entering grades K-8 in the 2024-25 school year to continue to develop and improve their athletic skills over summer break in a fun environment at state-of-the-art facilities. Brunswick Sports Camp is a full-day experience that includes a nutritious lunch and is designed for all athletes from beginners to those competing on travel teams. Our enhanced curriculum exposes campers to both core and recreational sports with a focus on developing good sportsmanship. With over 10 hours of athletic instruction each week, our campers learn the rules and develop the confidence and the skillset to participate in structured games each and every day. Opportunities to participate in traditional sports such as soccer, baseball, football, basketball, and more, as well as racquet sports such as tennis and squash, and recreational games including swimming (daily), four-square, wall ball, and more, will ensure the campers stay active and engaged. Competitions and theme days will be spread throughout the summer, and each week will end with a Popsicle Party! Sign up for one week, or multiple weeks. Extended Hours are available for an additional fee. Brunswick School will be closed and there will be no Sports Camp on June 19 in observance of Juneteenth, and on July 4 in observeance of Independence Day, and the fee for those weeks will be prorated.

Description:  This option is only available for students that are participating in a Brunswick program in the morning.    ELITE SQUASH CAMP

Description:  Brunswick’s Elite Squash Camp is a unique opportunity for rising 7th-12th grade students to work with Varsity Squash Coach Alister Walker and top coaches from esteemed NESCAC and Ivy League collegiate programs. An exposure to different styles and perspectives from top coaches in the nation will greatly benefit the development of the campers. In addition to Squash instruction, there will also be a Strength & Conditioning coach for campers to further enhance those essential elements of the sport during the off-season. Brunswick is excited to introduce our new Director of Squash and Varsity Squash Coach Alister Walker for the 2023-24 season, who has been a top-ranked player in the squash world and brings his passion and expertise to take Brunswick squash players to new heights. Lunch will not be provided at Brunswick Elite Squash Camp – all campers must pack a nut-free lunch every day.
 
   SQUASH CAMP

Description:  "At the Brunswick Squash Camp, Director of Racquet Sports and Varsity Coach Ryan Abraham, along with his team of assistant coaches and varsity squash players, will focus on a broad range of skills necessary to improve one’s game such as: racquet skills, shot selection, constructing a point, strength and fitness, match play, and of course maintaining a level of fun and enjoyment! This camp is open to beginner, intermediate and advanced players. Levels will be separated by court and the focus of each group will be tailored to their needs. Brunswick School will be closed and there will be no Squash Camp on June 19 in observance of Juneteenth, and the fee for those weeks will be prorated."
 
   TENNIS CAMP

Description:  "At the Brunswick Tennis Camp, Director of Racquet Sports and Varsity Coach Ryan Abraham, along with his team of assistant coaches and varsity tennis players, will focus on a broad range of skills necessary to improve one’s game such as: racquet skills, various types of shots, consistency, strength and fitness, match play, and of course maintaining a level of fun and enjoyment! This camp is open to beginner, intermediate and advanced players. Levels will be separated by court and the focus of each group will be tailored to their needs. Brunswick School will be closed and there will be no Tennis Camp on June 19 in observance of Juneteenth, and the fee for that week will be prorated."
 
   BRUINS ROWING CAMP
Dates:  6/5-6/7, 6/10-6/14, 6/17-6/21, 6/24-6/28 Coach:  John Martin

Description:  Bruins Rowing Camp will include daily sculling sessions on the Mianus River and Cos Cob Harbor in small groups with Brunswick coaches and technique sessions on rowing machines with Brunswick varsity rowers. The camp focuses on sculling in quads, coxed quads, doubles, and singles (i.e. no sweep rowing). Boys may sign up for one week or multiple weeks. No prior rowing/sculling experience required; all levels accommodated. Boys should bring water bottles and sun protection. Brunswick School will be closed and there will be no Rowing Camp on June 19 in observance of Juneteenth, and the fee will be prorated for that week.
 
   WRESTLING CLINIC WITH MR. O

Description:  This camp is designed to bring the energy out of our beloved bruiser! The goal of Wrestling Camp is to teach your son the skills and strategies needed to wrestle. Integral parts of learning to wrestle include emphasis on developing sportsmanship, teamwork, and confidence in every participant. Campers will learn conviction and self-control, while developing wrestling skills. Individual-skill will be emphasized, along with techniques including takedowns, pinning, breakdowns, riding, and bottom moves. There will be ample opportunity for campers to participate in matches, games, and much more!
 
   PHYSICAL EDUCATION CAMP - GRADES 3/4

Description:  The purpose of the Physical Education Sports Camp is to promote an active, fun, and healthy start to the summer. The program will be structured for rising 3rd and 4th grade boys replicating Physical Education “Game Days” of the Lower School. The camp is filled with ALL the fun activities and games that we play on a daily basis. The camp will primarily take place within the Lower School Gym, the Burke Field House and the Cosby Field. Games may include scooter football, soccer, wrestling, floor hockey, space invaders, capture the flag with special events like handstand competitions and water fights. There will be NO lunch served on campus this week, and all campers must pack a nut-free lunch each day.
 
   PHYSICAL EDUCATION CAMP - K

Games may include scooter football, soccer, wrestling, floor hockey, space invaders, capture the flag with special events like handstand competitions and water fights. Lunch is served to all interested campers at 12p to begin the afternoon.
 
   PHYSICAL EDUCATION CAMP - GRADES 1/2

   BRUINS BASKETBALL CAMP

Description:  The Bruins Basketball Camp is designed to teach the fundamentals of the basketball. Whether a beginner or an elite player, this camp is designed to improve your game. Campers will participate in fun and competitive drills that will feature contests and games. A major focus will be small group drills and development stations. Campers will be divided into groups based on age and ability. Brunswick School will be closed and there will be no Basketball Camp on June 19 in observance of Juneteenth, and the fee will be prorated for that week.
 
   SOCCER CAMP
Dates:  6/10-6/14, 6/17-6/21 Coach:  Jaime Gonzalez-Ocana

Description:  "This soccer camp is perfect for rising 6th, 7th, 8th, and 9th graders who love the game and want to work on their skills during the off-season. The practices will help expand individual skills, gain technical awareness, and develop the physical fitness of the participants. We will use the vocabulary and concepts used at the Varsity and Junior Varsity Brunswick soccer programs. A typical day will include technical drills intended to improve the foundation of the players: footwork, passing, oriented controls, dribbling, shooting, etc. In addition, daily scrimmages, smaller games, and other games and in-house competitions will allow us to work on basic concepts and skills while having fun and working on fitness (strengthening, agility, and speed). Coach Ocana has been an active member of the soccer program during his 21 years at Brunswick. He coached all levels at Brunswick from 7th grade to JV. He has coached the Brunswick JV soccer team for the last 12 years. He will be assisted by Upper School varsity and junior varsity soccer players. Brunswick School will be closed and there will be no Soccer Camp on June 19 in observance of Juneteenth, and the fee for that week will be prorated."
 
   BRUINS LACROSSE CAMP

Description:  The Bruins Lacrosse Camp offers an exciting, high-energy opportunity for young players to improve their skills, learn the finer points of the game, and have a whole lot of fun. Each day, Coach Gilsenan, along with several veteran players from the Brunswick Varsity Lacrosse team; Payton Anderson, Hudson Hausmann, Luke Hublitz, and Graham Burchill will run drills and scrimmages specifically designed to elevate each athlete's game, while, at the same, instilling in all of the players a sense of confidence in their abilities and an excitement for the sport. We can't wait to get started! Brunswick School will be closed and there will be no Bruins Lacrosse Camp on June 19 in observance of Juneteenth.
 
   SUMMER SPLASH CAMP - PRESCHOOL

Description:  Brunswick Summer Splash Camp will focus on how to be responsible in and around the pool all while enjoying some fun pool games. The camp will also include a 30 minute swim lesson. Swimmers and non swimmers are welcome. The majority of the pool games will be in the shallow end. This camp will have a limit of 12 campers with a lifeguard and 2 swim instructors.
 
   SUMMER SPLASH CAMP - GRADES 1-4

   WATER POLO CAMP

Description:  This class will focus on introducing water polo by having fun: learning the basic fundamentals of water polo including swimming instruction, with a lot of scrimmage time.
 
   WICK SUMMER SATURDAY SWIM CLINIC
Dates:  6/8, 6/15, 6/22 Coach:  Aaron Montgomery

Description:  This clinic is for students rising into grades 3-8 interested in improving their stroke technique in the pool. They will learn the fundamentals of all four competitive strokes, racing turns, and underwater kicking. The clinics will be run by coaches Aaron Montgomery and Jamie Barone.
