Brunswick took a 1-1 tie into the half against Loomis, but the Pelicans strung together four unanswered goals to best the Bruins on the road by a 5-1 margin on Wednesday.
Loomis (3-0) opened up the scoring in the 11th minute, with its striker dicing through the Brunswick 18 and eventually netting a goal inside the near post for the 1-0 lead.
At the 34th minute, the Bruins netted the equalizer on a goal by Henry Foster. Teammate Nick Boardman set up the goal by working the ball through a pair of Pelicans along the end line before connecting with Foster for the sophomore’s first goal of the season.
After intermission, Loomis punched in a pair of quick goals at the 49th and 53rd minute to take a 3-1 lead. By the midway point of the second half, the Pelicans netted two more markers and built a commanding 5-1 advantage.
For the game, Loomis outshot Brunswick, 14-3. Brunswick goalie Harry Barringer made a season-high 10 saves during 70 minutes of action. Reserve goalie Eric Meindl made his varsity debut and made four saves in the final 20 minutes.
