Crew Wraps Up Regular Season

Brunswick closed out the regular season with a trip to Lake Quinsigamond near Shrewsbury, Mass., on Sunday. Racing against five league opponents, the Bruins 1V took third place, while two other Brunswick entries won races. Up next for the Bruins is the Kent Invitational at Lake Waramaug on Saturday, May 13.
 
Rowing in white caps and an unrelenting headwind, the 1V boat had early difficulties, as a rower fell off his seat during the critical first strokes of the race. Brunswick’s boat showed resilience despite the initial setback, as it reeled the field back in and finished third behind St. John's and B.C. High. The Bruins outpaced Tabor, Fairfield Prep, and Shrewsbury.
 
The freshmen Bruins kept their perfect record against league opponents intact with a three-second win over second-place St. John's.
 
The Brunswick 2V remained undefeated with a 2.5 second victory over B.C. High.
 
The 4V, led by seniors Nate Skolds (6 seat) and Cole Fiorita (bow seat) took 4th place.
 
In the 3V event, the Bruins took to the conditions aggressively, jumping out to an early lead and holding on for third behind B.C. High and Fairfield Prep.
