Brunswick topped Westminster (52-35) and Northfield Mount Hermon (47-36), capping its dual-meet season with an impressive 10-1 record. The Bruins will prepare for the post-season, including the New England Championships on March 4 at Hotchkiss.
Brunswick opened the meet by placing first and second in the 200-medley relay, as the team of Alex Morgan, Thacher Scannell, Marcus Hodgson, and James Simone broke a Westminster pool record with a time of 1:41.66.
The Bruins success continued in the 200FR and 200IM, taking first and second place in both events. Christian Farricker won the 200FR with a time of 1:44.88, as Nico Apostolides took second. Cole Pierce won the 200IM with a time of 2:05.17, while Alex Morgan took second-billing.
Ford Jung placed third in the 50FR, qualifying for New Englands with a time of 26.75.
For the second time this season, Marcus Hodgson swam the 100FLY, and for the second time, he broke a Brunswick record. His time of 51.91 places him at the top of Division 1, and second overall in the league this season. Keegan Drew placed second in the event.
The 100FR was one of the best events of the day for the Bruins. Personal bests were set by race-winner Kyle Yelensky (54.01), Thomas Foley (53.41), and Caleb Osemobor (56.98). The trio has qualified for New Englands.
Brunswick swept the top three spots in the 500, as Will Powers, James Simone, and Nico Apostolides finished the race in that order.
In the 200FR relay, Brunswick’s quartet of Foley, Hodgson, Jake Charney, and Yelensky won with a time of 1:38.59.
Brunswick took the last two individual events. Scannell won the 100BK with a time of 56.94, as Jack Sparks won the 100BR with a time of 1:06.67.
The meet ended in similar fashion to its beginning, as Brunswick went 1-2 in the 400FR relay, and Brunswick set a Westminster pool record. The team of Hodgson, Pierce, Will Powers, and Scannell won the event with a record-setting time of 3:16.36.
