At the National Scholastic Grade Level Chess Championships — hosted by the United States Chess Federation in Orlando, Fla., on December 4–6 — Lower School students fared exceptionally well in the national event.
Ten Brunswick boys — Vincent Zhu ’28, Henry Graham ’26, Neel Behringer ’26, Miles Gillott ’26, Sebastian Pena ’25, Jesse Chung ’25, Leo Zhang ’25, Robert Ulmer ’24, Thomas Ewald ’24, and William Ewald ’23 — attended the three-day competition, playing seven games of chess in all.
Here is summary of the results:
•Vincent Zhu finished 8th in the Kindergarten Division.
•Henry Graham finished 15th in the 2nd Grade Division.
•Robert Ulmer finished 20th in the 4th Grade Division.
