The Bruins fell to an energetic Hoosac team 3-4 on Monday afternoon. It was a great day for tennis with sunshine and low wind. Brunswick secured the doubles point after 3 grueling battles that lasted a little over 90 mins.
Zimmerman was unable to finish his singles match at #1, which put Hoosac on the board and back in the fight. Brunswick would get a win at #5 singles from Freshman, McCutcheon, but then Hoosac would level again at the #3 position.
At #2, Hoosac's player fought back from 1-5 down to capture the first set. Meanwhile, Segura would earn the 3rd point for Brunswick at #6. Jack Sieg lost a close first set 6-4, but broke to go up 4-3 in the second. Despite some well-constructed points and Sieg coming into net, his opponent was very good at just putting the ball back into play and would break back to level at 4-4.
With the #2 and #3 positions leaning towards Hoosac, they would eventually close out both matches in straight sets to take the win.
