Brunswick traveled to Watertown to take on Taft on Wednesday afternoon, ultimately heading back to Maher Avenue with an 8-4 win to remain unbeaten on the season.
It was a relatively low scoring first half of lacrosse, and any offense in the first quarter favored the home team, as the Rhinos jumped out to a three-goal advantage.
Second quarter goals from Casey Quinson and Rick Giordano cut the Taft lead to 3-2.
The Bruins looked to right the ship after half time, and a tying goal in the first few minutes of the third quarter did the trick.
Brunswick’s offense showed up when it needed to in the second half, with four goals in the third quarter and two more in the fourth to ice the game.
The characteristically strong Bruins defensive unit played a big role in the comeback win, as Taft’s goal with 7:48 remaining in the third quarter was the home team's only of the half and last of the contest.
Brunswick will welcome back former assistant coach and current Hotchkiss head coach JR Mastro when the Bearcats visit Cosby Field on Saturday at 3 p.m.
