Brunswick fell to GCDS in the FAA Finals, 63-53, on Saturday afternoon in Dann Gym.
Brunswick got plenty of good looks early, but it was a day when nothing seemed to fall for the Bruins. A cold shooting performance combined with foul trouble dug the home team an early hole.
'Wick trailed 32-16 at half, but the break didn't help the Bruins offensive woes and they weren't able to chip away at the lead to make it manageable for several minutes. With their backs against the wall, Brunswick mounted a furious comeback to pull within eight in the closing minutes. Unfortunately, a couple bounces of the ball that could have closed the gap didn't go the Bruins way, ending the comeback attempt.
Ethan Long led Brunswick in scoring with 14. Jack Stevens had 12 and JP Pray added 10.
