Brunswick beat Hamden Hall, 61-52, at Dann Gym on Friday afternoon.
It was a game of runs for the Bruins starting with the opening minutes as they quickly took an 11-3 lead forcing an early Hornets timeout. But Hamden closed the gap and it was back and forth for most of the first half with Brunswick taking a 31-25 lead into the break.
The second half began with another Brunswick surge that increased the lead to 12. The visitors refused to go quietly and just when it seemed like the Bruins were going to put the game out of reach a couple costly turnovers resulted in another big swing, and their lead dwindled to just one with six minutes to play. But Brunswick rallied down the stretch, tightening up on defense and running purposeful sets on offense and took control in the final minutes of play.
Jack Stevens led the way offensively for the Bruins with 17 points. JP Pray added 14 and Ethan Long added 12.
