In what was certain to be a fast and physical contest, the Brunswick JV hockey team took down King's varsity at Hartong Rink on Thursday night by a score of 8-4.
Brunswick scored early in the first stanza and never gave up its lead, even capitalizing on aggressive penalty kill play with two short-handed goals.
Contributions came from all players, but it was a tale of two hat tricks with Michael Contino and Ben Taylor each netting three goals. Contino even added an assist to senior captain Luke Dougherty in the third period.
Junior Matt Fry also helped get the momentum going with an unassisted goal off an intercepted pass 10 minutes into the first period, and James Cragin was solid in net throughout the game.
The next challenge for the Bruins will be The Frederick Gunn School this Saturday at Linen Rink. Game time is scheduled for 2:30 p.m.
