JV1 Defeats Archirival Hopkins in Brunswick Fashion

It was a busy first half. Ten minutes in, Luke Martinez was assisted by John Guza for our first game goal. Five minutes later, Luke Martinez got his second of the game after a solo effort when he chipped the keeper going far post. Later in the half, we gave up a goal due to a defensive lapse that resulted in a penalty kick. Hopkins was able to finish cleanly to bring them within one. To conclude the half, Blake Levy scored unassisted to go ahead 3-1. 

 

Walker Boardman opened up the scoring in the second half. Johnny Backx crossed into the box to find Blake Levy, who took a shot that was blocked but not caught; with Walker nearby, he finished on the rebound. Another cross, but this time from Declan Moran, was misjudged by the defense, and fortunately for us, the ball rolled over the line for an own goal. To cap the scoring for the game, Reid Glanville was able to beat the keeper for our sixth goal of the game. Shout out to our keeper, Chase Nook, for stepping up in Attubato’s absence and Alex Vera for showing up once again to be another body. Final score 6-1.
