The Gold Cup is a 750m sprint race featuring some of the fastest international scullers including the reigning men's and women's world champions. The Hoffman Challenge is the high school / junior event at The Gold Cup.
Brunswick entered one single sculler, Reed Eddy '25, in this event.
Eddy won the Time Trial in a field of 25 scullers in a time of 2:12.870. The top four from the morning Time Trial moved on to the afternoon Final.
In the Final, Eddy raced well but was nipped at the line by less than 3/10ths of a second in a photo finish. Eddy has now placed top two in this prestigious event in two consecutive years.

The Bruins will close out the fall racing season by hosting Montclair High School (NJ) at the Brunswick Invitational on Sunday, November 5, at 1 p.m. on Cos Cob Harbor.
