Thirds Team Tops Masters

The Thirds Team had its first and last home game of the season, and defeated Masters with terrific play from the whole squad.

The first half saw even play, as Masters was certainly giving it all they had. Back and forth action consumed the initial 14 minutes until a penalty was called against the visitors for a hand-ball in the box. Jamie McCutcheon would take the penalty kick and make it a 1-0 game for the Bruins until Masters struck back with two goals in the 19th and 27th minutes to make it 1-2 at the half.

The 'Wick boys held their heads high and regrouped during halftime. After saying goodbye to some teammates who had to play in the Fall Concert, the remaining lads took to the field and within five minutes drew level on a goal by Nolan McCutcheon. Another eight minutes would pass before Owen Bartoszek would get what was destined to be the game-winner. Chris Pedlow would follow up with a goal in the 16th, and Robel Daniel would cap off the win with the fifth goal in the 25th minute.

Every boy played his role in the win, as they were cheered on by fans who filled the stands. It was certainly a great way to get the absolute most out of their one and only home fixture.

The season will close out next week, as the Bruins will travel to St. Luke's on Thursday to face off at 4:15.
