Ninth grade football earns 38-0 win over King School.

The Brunswick freshmen traveled to King School in Stamford and defeated the hosts, 38-0. After King drove to first-and-goal on their first possession, the Bruins adapted to the novel 8-man format and stopped the Vikings on downs. On the ensuing Brunswick possession, Leif Anderson posted a 56 yard end-around for a touchdown. Madsen Erhart completed a 3 yard pass to Augie Jones for the two-point conversion. After the defense forced another turnover on downs, the Bruins scored in identical fashion in the second quarter to make the score 16-0. After another defensive stand, Erhart scrambled 65 yards for a touchdown. The try for point failed making it 22-0. After again shutting down the King offense, Erhart found Timmy Hall for a 60 yard touchdown pass. Erhart converted the try for point on a QB keeper around the end to stake the Bruins to a 30-0 lead at halftime.
The Bruins maintained their defensive dominance in the second half, with interceptions by Jackson Pastel and Declan Litchfield-Cunningham. On offense, Erhart completed a 26 yard TD pass to Anderson after a solid drive marked by tough inside runs by Jake Paniwozik. Erhart kept the ball for the conversion. The fourth quarter was scoreless, leaving the final at 38-0.
Brunswick travels to GCDS for a rematch on Monday, October 23rd.
