Thirds Soccer Drops to .500 after Taft Loss

The Thirds Team traveled to Watertown with high hopes of extending their gains after the Avon victory, but it was not meant to be, as the Bruins fell to Taft by a score of 8-1.

With several of the older and more experienced players missing, the freshmen-heavy squad was up against some serious Taft talent and found themselves down 2-0 at the half.

With some formation changes and after a halftime break, the Bruins attempted a comeback in the second half and made it 2-1 with a beautiful finish from Jamie MacCutcheon. The momentum was quickly lost when Taft struck again only two minutes later to make it 3-1, and the defense found it more and more challenging with each passing minute to stop the onslaught.

Taft finished the half with six goals and the Brunswick side was forced to concede that the glory was all Taft's on this day.

Special gratitude to all who played, especially those who gave 100% for 100% of the time. The Brunswick man of the match was Chris Pedlow, whose aggressive and tireless play were inspiring to all who watched.

With more than a week between this game and the next, the Bruins will surely be working hard in practice to be well prepared for Cardinal Kung on October 6.
