Golfers Win FAA League Opener

The golf team (2-0, 1-0) won its FAA opener, eclipsing visiting King by prevailing in five tightly contested individual matches while tying a sixth at Bedford Golf & Tennis Club on Monday.

Despite ideal scoring conditions on a sunny, windless afternoon, the Bruins appeared to have a hard time finding the bottom of the cup and fell prey to some loose shots at inopportune times in compiling an aggregate score of 204. The hosts were led by senior tri-captain Sam O'Hara and junior Will Harned, who medaled with three-over-par 39s, backed by seniors Fritz Smith (41) and Andrew Stickel (42), junior James O'Connor (43), and freshman Henry Graham (48) in his varsity debut.

'Wick hopes to bring its "A game" to Hotchkiss on Saturday, when it will compete in a six-team tournament at the Hotchkiss Golf Course.
