Bruins Advance to Winners' Bracket at St. Seb's Tourney
Brunswick blanked an undermanned Albany Academy squad (14 skaters) by a score of 5-0 in the second game of the day at the St. Sebastian's Tournament in Needham, Mass., on Friday afternoon.
The Bruins were largely in control throughout the 45 minutes and netted three in the first half and two in the second to advance to the winners' bracket in this three-game tournament.
Juniors Eli Friedman (2 and 2) and Niko Cadoret (1 and 2) and sophomore Brendan Giles (1 and 2) led the scoring attack, while senior Maxime Sauve popped his first as a Bruin (he surely would have had a few last season!) and freshman Tucker Spiess earned his first point wearing the Brown and White.
Junior Brendan Holahan was sharp when he needed to be in the net.
The win earns the Bruins a showdown with the hosts from St. Sebastian's tomorrow at 3 p.m. The Arrows boast a raucous student section and have been ranked in the top-five by the various publications in the early going this season.
