Brunswick had a very successful day at the 2021 Head of the Charles Regatta, as the team came home with more medals than any previous year at the Charles.
Sam Subramaniam ’23 started the day with an impressive performance in the single sculls, winning a special medal for being the top single sculler in the U17 age group. He finished 13th of 48 overall, and was the top sculler among those representing one’s school.
Brunswick’s four then took an impressive fourth place of 84 crews. Coming all the way from bow #41, the crew of Peter Kapp ’22, Henry Andren ’24, Jimmy Cabot ’23, Ruffin Bryant ’23, and coxswain Max Konzerowsky ’22 finished first among schools for the first time in school history.
Brunswick ended its day with two boats racing in the Youth Eights. The crew of coxswain Teddy Elmlinger ’22, Robert Jacobson ’22, Campbell Officer ’23, Ben Packer ’22, Will Baxter ’22, Kiran Marsh ’24, Jake Murphy ’24, Jamie Gibbons ’22, and Lucas Tan ’24 took 41st of 80 and were second among New England schools. The crew of coxswain Ashton Arjomand ’22, Scott Raissis ’23, Reed Gilbert ’24, Colin Devine ’24, Tomas Jasson ’23, David Chavarria ’23, Adriel Resendiz ’23, Eric Lorenz ’25, and Magnus O’Reilly ’23 took 75th and gained great experience rowing down the famed course.
