Two Brunswick seniors were announced on Wednesday, Sept. 9, as semifinalists in the 2021 National Merit Scholarship Program, joining 16,000 students nationwide.
The pair of semifinalists — Jackson DaPuzzo and Cameron Evans — were selected for outstanding performance on the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test.
All semifinalists have an opportunity to continue in the competition for approximately 7,600 National Merit Scholarships, worth more than $30 million. To be considered for a Merit Scholarship award, semifinalists must fulfill several requirements to advance to the finalist level.
“These boys are truly accomplished in their academic endeavors — and they're also fine young men! They make Brunswick proud as they pursue their passions in and out of the classroom with dedication, intelligence, and curiosity,” Head of School Thomas W. Philip said.
“We're so thrilled by their well-deserved recognition.”
