Relay for Life: Lower Schoolers Raise Cancer Awareness
All Lower School students participated in “Pay to Wear Pink” to raise awareness and money for cancer prevention and treatment on Friday, October 13.
In addition to wearing pink and donating five dollars to the cause, boys took part in a “Relay for Life” event, mimicking the signature activity of the American Cancer Society by walking or running laps around Robert L. Cosby Memorial Field.
Individual classes recorded their total number of laps and miles (five laps per mile) by collecting pink popsicle sticks upon completion of one full rotation around the field.
"The event helped build community and awareness among our students," Lower School Head Katie Signer said. "All the boys walked and ran with spirited enthusiasm for such an important cause."
