It was a great game at Millbrook on Wednesday afternoon, but ultimately the host school emerged victorious, 68-61.
The short-handed Brunswick squad played with the heart and intensity necessary to keep the game close the entire way.
After trailing 24-19 at the break, the Bruins found themselves down by 12 midway through the second half. A timely rally sparked by hot shooting and stifling defense left the Mustangs with just a 51-50 advantage with four minutes to play, but ultimately the ball didn’t bounce Brunswick’s way down the stretch.
Ethan Long and London Ulysse led the way with 15 points each.
Brunswick is back in action next Tuesday at Rye Country Day.
