In a remarkable display of consistency, the golf team (11-1) compiled six scores between 36 and 38 to defeat CHSAA power Fordham Prep by 26 strokes at Round Hill Club on Thursday.
Paced by junior Will Harned's one-over-par 36 and backed up by three 37s (freshman Jack Chung and seniors Sam O'Hara and Matteo Santulin) and two 38s (seniors Fritz Smith and Andrew Stickel), the Bruins put on a ball-striking clinic with a five-score 185 aggregate and 37 individual average.
While the birdie putts weren't falling and the golf ball was not traveling in cool, wet conditions on the near-century-old historic Walter Travis layout, the squad's afternoon was typified by Harned's round, which featured an impressive eight greens hit in regulation.
'Wick is next in action on Saturday when it travels to Williamstown, Mass., to visit Northfield Mount Hermon in an 18-hole match at the renowned Taconic Golf Club.
