Paced by Sam O'Hara's stellar three-under-par 33, the varsity golf team ran its record to 2-0 by sweeping six individual matches at Apawamis Club to defeat host Rye Country Day in its FAA season-opener.
O'Hara reprised his two-under performance at Piping Rock Club last week by going one better, firing a bogey-free 33 to lead the Bruins over the Wildcats. O'Hara, who is now five-under par in the team's first two competitive outings, was supported by strong performances throughout the 'Wick lineup as Will Harned posted 37, followed by Fritz Smith and Andrew Stickel's twin 39s, and Henry Devaney's 41, as the Bruins negotiated the tight, undulating, Apawamis Club layout by exercising patience and discipline in compiling an impressive 189 five-score low aggregate team total.
