Brunswick skated to a 4-4 tie against Williston Northampton in the consolation round on Sunday at the St. Sebastian Holiday Tournament. The Bruins went 1-1-1 at the three-day event, as Charles Shaffer posted a natural hat trick against the Wildcats on Sunday.
Trailing by two goals to Rivers in the first half, Brunswick fought back to top the Red Wings by a 3-2 margin in the second day of the St. Sebastian’s Holiday Tourney on Saturday. The win propels the Bruins into the consolation finals against Williston Northampton on Sunday at 11:00 a.m.
Brunswick posted 11 top-six podium finishers to en route to winning its second-straight title at the Battle of the Bay at Tabor Academy on Saturday. The Bruins had a pair of individual champions and collected 229.5 team points, besting second-place Northfield Mount Hermon (193.5) by 36 points in the 29-team tournament.
Brunswick played a rare basketball double-header on Friday at Exeter. The Bruins lost the opener to St. Paul’s, 63-54, and fell the nightcap to Trinity-Pawling, 78-67. Brunswick (1-3) face the hosts on Saturday at 3:55 p.m.
