Baseball - Varsity
2023 - 2024
The baseball program continues to excel at Brunswick. Heading into 2022, 12-year skipper Johnny Montanez (152-58-1) has built the Bruins into a regional power on the diamond, winning six FAA regular season titles and four tournament crowns since 2012.
Additionally, the team has earned numerous individual accolades, including state-level, Coach-of-the-Year, and Player-of-the-Year awards. In 2021, the Bruins finished with a share of the FAA League Title.
Beyond annual spring training trips to Florida, the Bruins also compete in the National High School Showdown hosted by Perfect Game. During the season, the team faces one of the most difficult schedules in the region.
Adding to a challenging FAA home-and-home slate, the Bruins compete against a number of talented baseball programs within and beyond the tri-state area.
Coach Montanez and his staff expect each player to maintain a standard of excellence that represents the Brunswick community. The coaching staff creates a daily environment designed to maximize the potential of all players, including members of the Thirds, JV, and Varsity teams.
Many players continue their baseball careers at the collegiate level. Former Bruins have played in the ACC, Big East, Ivy League, and NESCAC, as well as other top Division I, II, and III programs. A few have gone on to have professional baseball careers.
