Brunswick dropped a 3-1 decision to Nichols in the third-place game at the Nichols-Belmont Hill Holiday Tournament on Sunday in Buffalo. The Bruins wrap-up the 2018 portion of their season with a 5-5-3 overall mark and will return to the ice in 2019 at Salisbury on Friday, January 4.
Nichols netted solo goals in each of the first two periods, as the Vikings went into the third period with a 2-0 lead.
Late in the third period, Henry Foster (2nd goal) scored on a 6x4 power play with 2:17 left, as the Bruins knifed the deficit, 2-1. Despite the extra skater Brunswick would not get any closer in the final minutes, as the hosts scored an empty-net goal for the 3-1 final.
