Scannell Named All-American in Water Polo and Swimming
Recent Brunswick graduate Thacher Scannell earned All-American honors in both swimming and in water polo for Brunswick this past year. The National Interscholastic Swim Coaches Association (NISCA) named Scannell to the fourth-team in water polo, as Scannell earned an All-American time as a member of Brunswick's 200-freestyle relay team this winter.
In the fall, Scannell led the water polo team to its fourth-straight New England championship, as the Bruins finished 23-2 on the year.
Scannell's 200-freestyle relay quartet won gold in the 2018 NEPSAC Division 1 Championships this winter, as the Bruins finished a program-best third overall at the New England Championships. Brunswick finished undefeated for the first time ever during the regular season, as the Bruins posted a 9-0 mark.
The Stamford resident intends to continue swimming at NCAA Division I Davidson College (N.C.) next year.
