Seven Bruins took part in the 2017 Connecticut Fencing Championships at Hopkins on Saturday in New Haven. Ben Pasteelnick and Jack Hall competed in the foil, while Max Larsen and Marc Baghadjian battled in the epee. A trio of Bruins, Thomas Burke, George Burke, and Paul Grasso, were in the sabre competition.
Thomas Burke earned the best finish for the Bruins, taking fifth place in the sabre, while George Burke finished 13th. Grasso, for his efforts, took 18th out of 41 sabre competitors.
Pasteelnick earned a 28th place finish out of 86 competitors in the foil, as Hall was 81st in that weapon designation.
In the epee, Baghadjian placed 37th, while Larson finished 44th out of 87 participants.
