Offensive Surge Leads Bruins to Victory

The varsity baseball team took care of business again on Wednesday, beating Greenwich Country Day by the score of 19-3.

It was a well rounded victory for the Bruins, as the bats, pitching, and defense all gave fantastic efforts.

Michael Yeager got the start on the mound and threw all five innings of the contest. The GCDS lineup was no match for Yeager, as he had all his pitches working for him. His curveball and changeup complemented his dominant fastball all afternoon.

The offense was the big story of the day, as the Bruins could not be stopped at the plate. The 19 runs were a product of 16 hits. Everyone in the Brunswick lineup contributed to the offensive surge, but there were some notable at bats. Jerry Guzman and Reed Hyde both contributed home runs to left field. Carlo Tucci had three hits and three RBIs. Both O'Haras had a hit and Yeager had two hits.

The game ended in the fifth inning due to the 10-run rule.

The Bruins look to continue the momentum as they head into their third league matchup of the week on Thursday at King. Hyde will get the start.
