Bruins Bow Out to Salisbury in Elite 8 Quarters

Brunswick and Salibury faced off in an Elite 8 quarterfinal game at Hartong Rink – and put on a good show of hockey for the packed house – with the Crimson Knights ultimately earning a 3-1 win and advancing to the NEPSAC Frozen Four.

The first minute of action surely brought the fans for each squad to their feet, as Salisbury scored just 36 seconds into the contest before senior co-captain Luke Drury answered for the Bruins on a power play a mere 18 ticks of the clock later.

From there, the teams each tilted the ice in their favor at different times – and the officials also remained active on both sides – but it was Salisbury that pulled ahead before the first intermission and then added another early in the second to take a two-goal lead.

In the final stanza, Salisbury played surgical hockey – getting the puck deep, standing up on the defensive blue line, and not allowing Brunswick to the middle of the ice. It was really a textbook period with the lead – give them credit – and 'Wick's high powered offense just couldn't muster any high-quality chances.

Brunswick finishes the season at 26-6-2.
