James Cragin earned a shutout in another dominant performance – a 3-0 blanking of Fairfield Prep – by the Bruins at Hartong Rink on Monday evening.
Cragin made several outstanding saves throughout the contest and remains unbeaten this season.
It didn't take long for Brunswick to get the scoring going. Michael Contino buried one just 19 seconds into the contest after Sebi DeAngelis won the puck on a strong forecheck, dishing it to Teddy Cooney who fed Contino on the play.
After a scoreless 34 minutes thereafter, Brunswick tallied another at the 10:51 mark in the third period. In his last JV game after four illustrious years, senior Luke Hublitz earned the assist on Ryan Baxter's 1v2 goal from the slot.
Matt Fry finished the scoring with just 57.2 seconds remaining in the third with a wrist-shot-snipe over the glove of the Fairfield Prep netminder. Fry was assisted by Hublitz and Luke Dougherty, two seniors relishing in their final periods playing for the Brown and White on Hartong's ice.
Hublitz had an opportunity at an open net in the final seconds, but it remained 3-0 Brunswick at the buzzer.
JV Hockey moves to 9-1 on the season, with the next tilt scheduled at Canterbury this Wednesday – 2:15 p.m. puck-drop.
