Bruins Shut Out Highlanders at Hartong

Brunswick bounced back from Wednesday's overtime defeat and earned a commanding 4-0 victory against the visitors from Frederick Gunn on Friday evening at Hartong Rink.

The Bruins were on top of their game from the first puck drop and didn't let the Highlanders believe they had any shot to win throughout the 54 minutes – dominating all three zones on their way to the shutout.

Senior co-captain Sean Gibbons, who leads the NEPSAC with 38 helpers, became Brunswick's single-season leader in assists early in the first period after setting up linemate Oliver Czaja for the tilt's opening tally. The West Point recruit broke a record formerly held by Andon Cerbone, who now plays at Quinnipiac and had 36 assists in 2019-2020.

Senior co-captain Luke Drury stayed hot with another PP deflection that found the back of the net in the second before Gibbons added two more – one in the second and one in the third on plays that might be highlighted on NHL Network later tonight.

Senior Will Baker made a few big saves early in the game and in the second period to keep Gunn at bay and finished off the blank sheet with 20 saves.

And D-man Blake Stant – a junior transfer from Gunn – got on the board with an assist in the third to make the handshake line a little sweeter.

Right back at it on Saturday at Berkshire at 1 p.m.
