Our first away game outside of Greenwich since Deerfield today may have proven that we are better at home. A game in which a lot went on, but not much ended up on the scoreboard.
We started early and within the first ten minutes we were rewarded with a penalty kick when Ben Taylor was taken down in the box. Ben easily slotted the ball to his right to make it 1-0. Masters was able to capitalize on a defensive lapse to make it 1-1 not long before halftime. Unfortunately, that was how the game ended, but as I said, there was a lot that happened.
Masters ended up with 2 yellow cards. One of which came in the last minute of the game when their goalkeeper yelled at the referee. At this point in the game we were shooting on every possession, no one was holding back, and with as many shots on goal as we had, everyone thought we’d send one into the back of the net. Deflections and great saves kept Masters in the game, all while Chase Nook only saw 1 true shot on goal. An unfortunate result, but we keep our unbeaten streak alive.
