Brunswick 9s defeat GCDS.

Brunswick 9s defeated hosts Greenwich Country Day School 16-12 in a crosstown rivalry rematch. After a scoreless first quarter, Luke Perriello punched in a 3 yard run to put the Bruins on the board. Perriello carried again to convert the PAT, staking the Bruins to an 8-0 lead. However, late in the quarter GCDS answered with a broken-play quarterback scramble to the end zone. The try for point failed, and the half ended with Brunswick up 8-6.

In the third quarter, GCDS struck again with a long pass to set up a touchdown. Although the try for point failed, the quarter ended with the Tigers leading the Bruins 12-8. In the fourth quarter, Madsen Erhart hit Landon O’Hara on a 46 yard pass play to set up a 6 yard touchdown run by Perriello. Erhart converted the PAT on a quarterback keeper to bring the score to 16-12. Although the Tigers threatened late in the game, timely interceptions by Perriello and O’Hara sealed the victory for the Bruins, and the final remained 16-12.

Brunswick will host Avon Old Farms at Cosby Field on Saturday, October 28^th.
