Brunswick defeated cross-town rival, Greenwich High School, by a score of 17-14 on Friday night of Homecoming Weekend at Mehra Natatorium.
After going down early in the game, two goals from senior Patrick Mullen and one each from Ryan and Connor Ohl tied the game at four at the end of the first quarter.
Down 10-9 at the half, a goal from Ben Atkinson tied the game early in the third, and a goal a few possessions later from Adam Blum put the Bruins up 11-10. They never relinquished their lead, holding the Cardinals to only three goals in the second half to the Bruins’ eight.
Senior Goalie Ryan Miele anchored the Brunswick defense with 10 saves. Mullen led the offense with five goals, Ryan Ohl contributed four, Connor Ohl notched three, Blum netted two, and Atkinson, Vilas Sogaard-Srikrishnan, and William Ewald each had one to round out the scoring.
