Brunswick traveled to Greens Farms Academy, where they picked up an FAA win, 70-63, on Tuesday afternoon.
The Bruins, who would never trail in the contest, opened the game emphatically with a Jon Sigurdsson alley-oop dunk off of a Tristan Joseph assist, sparking a 9-0 run over the first two minutes of action. Brunswick remained in control for the entirety of the first half, with Matty Augustine providing 10 points and 8 rebounds, along with two London Ulysse three pointers, and tough defensive efforts from Charlie Johnson and Luke Michalik.
Brunswick took a 42-31 lead into the second half, where their advantage would increase to as much as 17 points. But the Dragons would not go down without a fight. A full-court press forced the Bruins into turnovers and created fast-break layups for GFA. Ultimately the Bruins regrouped, took care of the ball, and hit clutch free throws down the stretch to put the game out of reach.
Joseph led all scorers with 24 points, while Sigurdsson added 17 and Augustine had 15.
