The varsity soccer team earned its 10th victory of the season with a convincing 6-0 road win over Millbrook on Wednesday afternoon.
The Bruins controlled the game from the start.
Malik Samms scored the first goal in the 13th minute — striking his shot after a series of passes from Kaden Saad and Gavin Foster. Will Donovan finished a long pass from John Dunn for the second goal in the 21st minute. Samms got his second goal a minute later after Nico Montoni sent him through with a brilliant ball from just outside the box.
The team increased the pressure immediately at the start of the second half and got on the board again in the 47th minute. The goal started with a beautiful ball down the left wing by Samms, who found Foster open; the ball was crossed to Donovan who finished nicely.
In the 53rd minute, Samms found freshman Theo Perkins open — and he converted the opportunity for his first varsity goal. The scoring was completed when Foster (after a nice long pass from Johnny Saunders) found Alex DeLuca in the box, who one timed the shot into the back of the net.
James Walker earned another shutout in goal, and the defenders prevented Millbrook from creating any serious scoring chances. The midfield dominated possession and initiated countless scoring opportunities. Every player played significant minutes in the win.
The Bruins will face GCDS on Friday after a short bus ride across town.
