Brunswick soccer (1-2) dropped its second straight match on Wednesday — a 5-0 loss to Loomis Chaffee in the Bruins’ first home WNEPSSA contest on Carroll Field in nearly two years.
Despite having some solid chances to score throughout the match, the Bruins simply couldn't find the back of the net. The visitors, on the other hand, took advantage of every opportunity they had.
Loomis took a 3-0 lead into halftime with goals in the 13th, 23rd, and 25th minutes, adding tallies in the 57th and 69th (on a PK) minutes before the final whistle.
Freshman goalkeeper Christian Rinaldi saw his first varsity minute between the pipes, after coming in for senior James Walker in the 75th minute. Walker had five saves on the day, and Rinaldi made three in his abbreviated debut.
Brunswick returns to action on Saturday at Deerfield for a 2:00 p.m. kick-off.
