Despite dominating at Faceoff X, winning 20 of 27 draws on the afternoon, Brunswick ultimately fell to Malvern Prep in a battle of two nationally ranked high school lacrosse teams on Saturday in Pennsylvania.
The key to the Malvern victory was a 6-1 third-quarter run, giving the hosts a 9-6 lead heading into the final 12 minutes of play.
The Bruins did fight back to tie the game at nine with 6:42 remaining in the contest — but Malvern tallied three goals before the buzzer to secure the victory.
After a break for Wednesday’s graduation, ’Wick will finish its season with a home-and-home against Avon Old Farms — as the two rivals meet in Avon on Friday at 3:30 p.m. and on Cosby Field on Saturday at 3:30 p.m.
