William Kallman Leads Skiers at State Open Championships
Brunswick finished seventh overall at the CISL State Championships on Monday at Mount Southington, as William Kallman earned a second CISL All-State honor.
While the Bruins took seventh place out of 15 teams overall, the squad was third within their division. The top six skiers for Brunswick finished with a combined time of 292.00, 0.39 seconds ahead of eighth-place Greenwich H.S., as Pomperaug/Newtown won the title with a time of 273.67.
It is the third-best overall finish for Brunswick at the CISL State Open as the Bruins took second in 2017 and sixth in 2016.
Kallman, a CISL All-State honoree a year ago, led Brunswick with a ninth-place finish over two runs. At four CISL races this season, the all-state skier finished second three times. Kallman also posted double golds at the NEPSAC Class B Championships this year, winning both the slalom and giant slalom.
