Brunswick’s six-game winning streak was snapped at Albany Academy on Friday, 4-3. The Bruins, currently ranked 10th in the latest USHR.com weekly poll, rallied from two goals down to tie the game late in the third period, however the hosts countered with the game winner in the final minutes of play.
The Cadets (6-18-1) netted the lone goal of the first period and extended their lead to 2-0 just over three minutes into the second period.
Later in the second period, the teams exchanged goals, as Albany Academy took a 3-1 lead into the final frame.
Trailing by two goals late in the contest, Brunswick netted two straight markers to tie the game at 3-3. Henry Dale made it a 3-2 contest with 3:14 remaining and 61 seconds later, Jude Brower finished off a power-play to knot the score.
Following the face-off with 2:13 remaining in the tie game, the Cadets scored the eventual game-winner 21 seconds later.
The Bruins have a week off before heading to Gunnery on Valentine’s Day.
