Brunswick and Fairfield Prep finished with matching 4-1 records at the Gold Cup team race on Wednesday at the Indian Harbor Yacht Club, however the Jesuits won the head-to-head race against the Bruins to take first-place overall.
In the six-team, round-robin event, Brunswick’s lone loss was to Fairfield Prep. The Bruins’ three boats finished 3-4-5, for 12 points, while the Jesuits sailed to a 1-2-6 finish for nine points.
Brunswick bested Greenwich H.S., Greenwich Academy, Fairfield Ludlowe and Greens Farms for its four wins.
The Bruins have been busy, mixing fleet racing and team racing events in recent days.
Brunswick returns to action on Saturday, May 16, competing in the coveted eight-team President’s Cup NESSA Team Racing Championship in Portland, Maine.
