Williston Northampton jumped out to a 3-0 lead and cruised to 6-2 win at home over Brunswick on Saturday. The loss snapped a five-game unbeaten streak (4-0-1) by the Bruins. Brunswick returns to action with a home contest against Portledge on Wednesday, January 30.
Trailing 3-0 after one period, Brunswick’s Andy McBurney netted his first goal of the season to make it a 3-1 game early in the second frame.
The Bruins could not get closer, as the Wildcats netted two insurance goals to open the third period for a commanding 5-1 lead.
Brunswick’s Ryan St. Louis (12th goal) made it a 5-2 lead on a 6x4 power-play with 6:39 left to play, as Willison added an empty-net tally to cap the scoring at 6-2.
