Brunswick broke open a 1-1 game against Lawrenceville with six straight goals, en route to a dominating 7-2 road victory over the Big Red on Wednesday. With the win, the Bruins improve to 11-9-4 overall and 10-8-4 in NEPSIHA action, while Lawrenceville’s two-game winning streak was halted.
The Brunswick offense tossed a remarkable 70 shots on net, as the Lawrenceville goalie was busy making a staggering 63 saves in the contest. In contrast, Alexander Rohlf made 20 saves for the Bruins.
Tom Richter opened the scoring for Brunswick at 9:41 of the first period, as Lawrenceville tied the game at 1-1 later in the period with a goal at 15:10.
The Bruins took the lead for good just 12 seconds later, as Richter notched his second goal of the game and fifth of the season to start the six-goal run. Fifty-nine seconds later, Nick Boardman (3rd goal) made it a 3-1 contest in favor of the visitors.
Jack Forrest netted his team-leading 12th goal in the second period, as Brunswick scored three more goals in the third period, building a 7-1 advantage.
Ryan St. Louis (2nd goal) opened the final frame with a goal, as Ryan Carmichael (5th goal) and Charles Shaffer (11th goal) added markers.
Lawrenceville (5-19-1, 0-9-1) tacked on a late goal for the 7-2 final.
