'Wick Track Athletes Compete at New England Championship
Brunswick’s track and field team competed at the New England meet on Saturday at Deerfield Academy, with the Bruins taking ninth place among 14 schools and setting two new school records.
Sophomore Nathan Lee placed fourth in the 1500, with a school record time of 3:59, and fourth in the 3000, with another school record of 8:46.06. Freshman Teddy Hojlo finished fifth in the 3000, at 8:46.82, which would have also surpassed the school record. Another freshman, Teo Ocana, placed sixth in the 400, with a time of 51.61, missing the school record by .3 seconds and running the fastest time in Connecticut for a freshman. Lastly, junior Patch Leonard placed sixth in the 110 hurdles, missing the school record by only .2 seconds, and seventh in the 300 hurdles, also nearly breaking his own school record.
