Brunswick won the NEPSAC Class B Championship — the school’s first regional title since the program’s inception in 2015 — at Proctor Academy Ski Area in New Hampshire on Wednesday.
The boys were very focused and were not to be denied after a very tight giant slalom race in the morning with eventual second place Rivers School. After a break for lunch, every one of the boys stepped it up a notch for the slalom race.
The team placed four individual racers in the top 10 of each race (both GS and SL), including three podiums with Patch Leonard winning silver in the GS and gold in the SL, while Cameron Shipman tied for the silver in the SL.
The coaches are proud of the entire team, but a special kudos goes out to Ryan Warner, who had his best day of racing as a Bruin and scored important points toward the team title.
GS Race Results: Patch Leonard – 2nd Cameron Shipman – 5th Ryan Warner – 6th Ollie Leonard – 8th Teddy Bancroft – DNF (unfortunate pre-release)
SL Race Results: Patch Leonard – 1st Cameron Shipman – 2nd Ryan Warner – 8th Ollie Leonard – 10th Teddy Bancroft – 18th
