The Bruins are learning how to win tight, low-scoring games in recent weeks -- doing so once again in a 3-2 victory against a scrappy Albany Academy squad on Friday night at Hartong Rink.
The team is also picking up some much needed secondary scoring and offensive contributions from the blueline, as junior Ryan Wachtel, senior Daniel Hu (he's on fire!), and junior d-man Luc Lampert found the net for 'Wick -- while senior d-man Niko Cadoret and junior forwards Jake Minella and Luke Drury (2) earned key assists.
The Bruins led 2-0 after one and 2-1 after two -- and although they were unable to put away the Cadets earlier in the contest, they played a dominant third period to seal the win before the visitors finished the evening's scoring with a goal in the last eight seconds.
Senior Brendan Holahan battled on every puck and made two saves in the final stanza that could have changed the ultimate outcome. Kudos to the co-captain.
The boys have the weekend off before hitting the road back to New Jersey on Tuesday, when they'll face Delbarton in a non-league tilt.
